Sr. Business Analyst

Haya Water is a government owned company formed to plan, execute and operate the wastewater collection, treatment and distribution system in the governorate of Muscat. We immediately require:

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Update and maintain the Business Model and Application Model for Haya as defined in the organization and according to international standards

  • Define the system specifications and develop user’s requirement for the new systems

  • Analyze and recommend a need for new Business Practices and Technologies to be implemented in Haya.

  • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

  • Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.

  • Analyzes business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.

  •  Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.

  • Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.

  • Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business.

  • Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.

  • Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.

  • Make recommendations for buy versus build decision.

  • Assists IT Projects Manager in developing IT Budgets, Annual IT Department Balance Score Card (BSC).

  • Monitor IT Annual Budgets and make sure expenditure are met as planned.

 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • University degree or equivalent in a related technical subject such as computer studies or business computing or business information systems with 9 years of experience in similar role within organization, operating a similarly wide range of systems and solutions or Diploma with 12 years related experience.

  • Good conceptual understanding of business processes.

  • In depth knowledge in system quality control, and have up-to-date knowledge of tools and techniques in data analysis tools.

  • Good Knowledge in the field of Business and Data Modeling practices and tools

  • Good interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Excellent English Language skills.
