JECT SCOPE
The followings are the high level project scope that
is reported in the Client's 2008 Initial Master Plan to provide Sea Outfalls to
the new Darsait STP and Auzaibah CPS:
-
Design & construction of new Darsait STP's sea
out fall that includes 1 Km of on-shore pipeline and 3 Kms of off-shore pipeline.
This is assuming the rehabilitation of the existing on-shore
part and construction of a new off-shore pipeline.

Construction of 500m of on-shore pipeline and 3 Km
of off-shore pipeline as a sea outfall to discharge the surplus TE and emergency
sewage from the new Al Ansab STP and Azaibah CPS.
The above mentioned
scope of work was
conducted at high concept level in the 2008 Initial Master Plan and it has been
given in this tender document for indication of the magnitude of the work and the
quantities are approximate. The successful consultant is fully responsible for the
design of a complete sea outfall system for the new Darsait STP and for Azaibah
CPS regardless to the scope reported in this section.
The services, which the Client requires the Consultant to provide under this Contract,
are:
A. Design of the following elements:
- A complete Sea Outfall System for the new Darsait STP.
- A complete Sea Outfall System for the Auzaibah Central
Pump Station (Auzaibah CPS).
The consultant shall conduct all required investigations and provide a complete
preliminary design detailed enough to eliminate any risks on the construction contractor
who will conduct the final design and construct the system.
The consultant shall take into consideration the existing and future wastewater
facilities during the design of the sea outfalls, cooperate with other consultants
& contractors working on other parts of the wastewater system, anticipate and
program successfully all interfaces, and perform all the required tasks in order
to ensure a successful implementation of the project.
B. Quantity Surveying:
The consultant shall appoint a qualified quantity surveying
sub-consultant who shall be responsible for all financial and contractual matters
throughout the project life cycle. The Consultant shall submit in his offer the name,
brief history of experience, track records, accreditation & certification, and
any other relevant information of the QS sub-consultant. The QS sub-consultant
shall be responsible for the preparation of the Bill of Quantities (BoQ), cost estimates,
and any other related services. The QS sub-consultant shall also have experience
in preparation of construction tender
documents and shall be fully responsible for
the final checking & production of the construction documents. Therefore the
QS sub-consultant staff must have excellent English language skills. The QS sub-consultant
shall
directly liaise and attend any discussions/clarification with the Client whenever
is required to do so.
If the Consultant wishes to conduct this activity in-house using his own staff then
he shall sufficiently prove his capabilities in the quantity surveying in the tender
submission for consideration and this be subjected to approval.
In order to be accepted
by the Client the Consultant’s quantity surveyors shall have a Bachelor degree
in Quantity Surveying, more than 10 years of relevant experience including writing
& preparation of construction tender documents, excellent English language skills,
experience in the local market prices, and a certification from a professional QS
body.
C.

D. Construction supervision & contract(s) administration.
